NJ TRANSIT Temporary Rail Service Changes
(Feb. 15 – March 14, 2026)
Due to Portal Bridge construction, Bloomfield residents—particularly those on the Montclair-Boonton Line—should expect temporary service disruptions.
Changes may include earlier departures, reduced frequency, longer travel times, and the diversion of all Midtown Direct service to Hoboken. NJ TRANSIT tickets will be cross-honored on PATH, NY Waterway ferries, and select bus routes. Please check schedules in advance and allow extra travel time while this critical infrastructure upgrade is completed.
The Bloomfield Parks and Recreation Department is also adjusting the Township shuttle schedule to provide additional commuting options for residents.
