The Community Development Department is responsible for various land use and development related activities throughout the Township.
Construction and zoning permits are issued from this office as well as permits for garage sales, dumpsters, POD-style temporary storage units. Construction and zoning code violations are investigated through the department as well.
BE ADVISED THAT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS NOW PROCESSING AND PERFORMING INSPECTIONS FOR A CERTIFICATE OF CONTINUED OCCUPANCY (CCO) AKA RESALE CO AND YOU MAY SEND THE APPLICATION, WHICH IS AVAILABLE ONLINE, TO 375 FRANKLIN STREET. (June 2020)
The Department also provides administrative and technical support for the Historic Preservation Commission, Rent Leveling Board and administers the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
Finally, the Department is the main point of contact for the U.S. Census.
