Bloomfield March 16 Council Meeting to be Closed to General Public in Effort to Prevent the Possible Spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus
The Council Meeting will be streamed live on Channel 35, (Comcast), Channel 30 (Verizon), YouTube or Facebook Live and a link for the livestream will be posted on the township website, www.bloomfieldtwpnj.com
BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- The Township of Bloomfield’s March 16 Council meeting will be closed to the general public in an effort to prevent the possible spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus. The meeting will be streamed live on channel 35 (Comcast), channel 30 (Verizon), YouTube or Facebook Live. A link for the livestream will also be posted on the township website, www.bloomfieldtwpnj.com.
“As a result of the state of emergency and public health emergency that has been declared by Governor Murphy, I have made the decision to close the March 16 Council meeting to the public,” said Mayor Michael Venezia. “We are taking every precaution necessary to protect our residents from the possible spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus. I encourage all residents to watch the livestream of the meeting and anyone that would like to submit a question or statement may still do so.”
The public will still be able to make a public comment to the Mayor and Council by submitting it to the Township Clerk at twpclerk@bloomfieldtwpnj.com. The Township Clerk will read on the record all questions and comments during the public comment portion of the meeting.
Residents that wish to submit a question or comment should include their name, address and question or comment in their submission. Submissions will be accepted until 7:00 PM, Monday, March 16, 2020.
