March 13, 2020
Dear Library patrons and community members,
In response to COVID-19 and the need for social distancing, the Mayor and Council, in partnership with the Trustees of the Bloomfield Public Library have decided to close as of 5pm March 13, with a tentative reopen date of April 1.
We ask you to hold onto your materials and not use our book drops. They will be locked. We will not be charging any fines during the closure. Patrons will also not be able to request physical items during this time.
Keep an eye out for Facebook Live events for story times and Ruby Bunny chats. Watch for online Q&A with our staff about Ancestry.com and other services. We’ll be posting poetry, music, art and more, along with interesting facts about each of them. Email or message us to say hi and let us know how you’re doing! If you know of a community member who does not have access to the internet and needs library assistance, please reach out to us directly and we will try and help via phone.
Recognizing the central role of the library in the community, we will do all that we can to continue to provide you the library services you expect. Our team will monitor email and social media during regular library business hours.
You can contact us at Reference@bplnj.org or through Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram messaging. The library has a vast collection of digital materials on our website bplnj, org. If you’re looking for an e-book title or audio, please let us know and we will help!
