Immunization Audits

Audits

Every year, public health nurses conduct immunization audits in all the child care centers and schools located in the communities we serve.

During an immunization audit, public health nurses examine each child’s vaccine record to ensure the student has all the mandated vaccines required by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH).

Result Consequences

If vaccine deficiencies are discovered, the child / student is to be excluded from child care center or school until the parent / guardian provides documented proof of the child / student receiving the deficient vaccine(s).

Recommendation

The Public Health Nursing office advises that a parent / guardian bring a copy of their child’s vaccination record to the child care center / school every time their child receives immunizations from their health care provider. By doing this, the child care center or school will always have the most recent record.
