BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- The Township of Bloomfield is pleased to announce it will be launching a Community Farmer's Market on Tuesday, September 21 in the Bloomfield Public Library Courtyard. The market will run every Tuesday, 3:30-6:30pm, through November 9 and feature City Green's mobile veggie truck along with a variety of other vendors.
“This farmers market will be an exciting opportunity to buy locally produced food from small businesses in our community,” said Mayor Venezia. “I would like to thank the Bloomfield Community Farmers Market Committee for their hard work to make this a reality.”
As part of the market, the Bloomfield Community Farmer's Market Committee welcomes applications from Bloomfield small businesses to be featured one time at each market at community spotlight tables.
If you are a Bloomfield resident or local small business owner that offers pre-made goods or services, please reach out to Councilwoman Jenny Mundell via email by September 6. In the email, include your name, business name, contact information, company website and social media handles as well as an in depth description of your business and offerings.
If your products are food based, please also include proof of insurance and necessary food handlers information. Please also include your preferred market date(s) - any Tuesday between 9/21 and 11/9. Selected applicants will be notified of their dates by September 14.
“The launch of our farmers market this year is just the beginning. We plan to have a full market schedule in 2022, as we continue to grow this community project,” said Councilwoman Jenny Mundell. “None of this could be possible without the work of the Bloomfield Community Farmers Market Committee as well as the Neighbor to Neighbor Network for the vouchers that they are providing which will grant equitable access to all residents.”
Market and veggie vouchers will also be made available to those who qualify. For more information on the vouchers, please contact Paula Peikes via email.
