ADVISORY!!!! Feb. 8, 2017 - 7:00pm

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from Midnight tonight until 6:00pm Thursday evening. Between 6 and 12 inches of snow is expected.

Due to the snow storm Garbage and Recycling Pickup for Thursday is cancelled. Tomorrows Garbage pickup will be collected next Monday, your regular day and Thursday’s Recycling pickup will now be collected on Saturday.

We encourage everyone to move their cars off the street during the storm. It is mandatory that all cars parked on snow emergency streets must be moved off the street no later than 4am Thursday Morning or they will be ticked and/or towed.

Off street parking is available at all School Parking lots and Recreation Facility lots. As a reminder, all cars must be removed from School lots at the end of the storm.

Finally, all Bloomfield Public Schools will be closed tomorrow February 9, 2017. We ask everyone to be careful during this major storm.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY – BLOOMFIELD AVENUE BROAD STREET (SIX POINTS) CONSTRUCTION
September 15, 2016
On Tuesday, September 20th milling and paving of the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Broad Street will commence, weather conditions permitting. Traffic on Bloomfield Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Delays should be expected due to this construction. Approaches from Glenwood Avenue and Washington Street may also be restricted and/or closed during certain periods during the construction. Parking along Bloomfield Avenue and Broad Street will also be restricted.
It is recommended that unless you have specific business or reside in this area, you plan alternate routes to your destination.
This work is expected to last until the close of business day Friday, September 23rd.
As indicated above, this work is contingent upon weather conditions and may therefore change. It is recommended that you periodically check the Bloomfield Township Website for updates.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY
NOTICE OF EMERGENCY SEWER CONSTRUCTION
MONTGOMERY STREET
June 28, 2016
 
Due to a sewer blockage under Montgomery Street in the vicinity of 158 Montgomery Street, emergency construction is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29th, beginning at 7:30 AM to repair this blockage. The repairs are necessary and critical at this time to prevent sanitary sewage from backing and impacting residences.
In order to perform this construction, parking along Montgomery Street will be restricted between Williamson Avenue and Berkeley Avenue. Also, traffic traveling westerly on Montgomery Street will be detoured via Walnut Street to Jerome Place onto Berkeley Avenue northbound.
It is recommended that you plan an alternate route during construction.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of the business day, Friday, July 1st.

MAY 4, 2016
ROAD CLOSURE – HOOVER AVENUE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
 
On or about Monday, May 9th, the County of Essex will begin construction for the replacement of the Hoover Avenue Bridge between Broad Street and Morris Place.  This section of Hoover Avenue will therefore be closed to traffic. A detour route will be established with appropriate signage. This project and the bridge closure are anticipated to last through October 2016. It is therefore recommended that those who regularly use this bridge plan an alternate route to avoid delays.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR JANUARY 29th  AND 30th
GLENWOOD AVENUE NJ TRANSIT UNDERPASS TO BE CLOSED FOR REPAIRS

Weather permitting, on Friday, January 29th beginning at 8PM through Saturday, January 30th ending at 4AM the NJ Transit train trestle at Glenwood Avenue will be closed to all through traffic for repair. 
Northbound Glenwood Ave will be closed at Maolis Avenue, except for local traffic. Southbound Glenwood Avenue will be closed to traffic at Lackawanna Place.
Appropriate detours via Maolis Avenue, Ashland Avenue, Clinton Street and Washington Street will be posted for the duration of the project.
If weather prevents this work from being performed, an updated notice will be posted with the new construction hours.
