Bloomfield Water Department to Perform Evening and Night Time Water Main Repair Work at Intersection of Park Street and Broad Street Wednesday and Thursday

BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- Bloomfield Township Engineer Paul Lasek Has Issued the Following Announcement:

In our continued effort to improve our water system the Bloomfield Water Department has retained John Garcia Construction Company to replace two water valves at the intersection of Park Street and Broad Street.

This work is scheduled for the evenings of Wednesday, August 29th and Thursday, August 30th. Work is expected to start at approximately 6:30 PM on each evening with excavation of the roadway. On each evening, water service to those buildings on Broad Street between Liberty Street and Beach Street will be interrupted from about 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Other buildings in the area may experience lower water pressure or discolored water during these hours and several hours after the repairs are completed. If this occurs, we recommend running your water for at least 30 seconds before drinking or using it for cooking, cleaning or bathing.

It is anticipated that all buildings in the area will have normal water service by the mornings following the repair—Thursday and Friday.

If you are experiencing continued discolored water or low pressure on the mornings of Thursday, August 29th or Friday August 30th, please contact the Bloomfield Engineering Department at 973-680-4009 for assistance.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this work.
