UPDATED ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING LEAD AND COPPER SAMPLING 2/23/2018


POTABLE WATER ADVISORY – DISCOLORED WATER
February 6, 2018

The City of Newark Water Department has advised the township that they will be placing the Pequannock Aqueduct back on line by tomorrow evening. This aqueduct supplies potable water to the Township.
This aqueduct was taken off line on January 21st due to a leak and resulted in some Bloomfield residents having discolored water.
The Newark Water Department has indicated that they do not anticipate a repeat of this situation when placing the aqueduct back on line. However, if any Bloomfield residents experience discolored water this week they should contact the Bloomfield Engineering Department at 973-680-4009.

NOTICE REGARDING YOUR DRINKING WATER

December 7, 2017

In an effort to improve the quality of Bloomfield’s Drinking Water, the City of Newark will be performing maintenance operations to alter the flows within the supply lines coming into Bloomfield. This may result in discolored water on Thursday and Friday, December 7th and 8th.

This situation should be temporary. If you have any questions regarding this situation, please call 973-680-4009.

WATER ADVISORY-BROWN OR DISCOLORED WATER

October 30, 2017

Please be advised that the City of Newark had a 36” main break at Park Avenue & 5th Street.  This is a feeder main and it may cause discoloration of water in Bloomfield.  Newark Water personnel are on site and anticipate to resolve this issue today.

Brown or discolored water may be experienced for several more hours until the work is completed and the watermains settle down. This is mainly affecting customers south of Bloomfield Avenue.

It is recommended that your run your water for several minutes before using and while there is not a boil water advisory issued by the City of Newark, it is recommended you refrain from consuming the water if it is severely discolored, until it clears up.

The Bloomfield Water Department will advise all customers if there is any additional information released by the City of Newark related to this situation.
