Vital Statistics records have been kept in Bloomfield since 1848. Vital Statistics is the recording of all Births, Marriages and Deaths that occur within a Community. All Vital Statistics are also recorded to the State to provide data on morbidity and mortality.
In
order to obtain a Marriage License from the
Township of Bloomfield the Bride must be a
resident of Bloomfield. This license will
be good for any municipality in the State
of New Jersey. If the Bride resides out of
state then the Groom must obtain a Marriage
License from the Municipality where he resides
in the State of New Jersey. This License will
be good for any municipality in the State
of New Jersey. If both Bride and Groom reside
out of state then they must obtain a marriage
license from the New Jersey municipality where
the marriage will take place. This license
will be issued for that municipality only.
