EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT
The Bloomfield is part of The New Jersey
Office of Emergency Management, which is a part of the new United States
Department of Homeland Security. It is formed and governed by the NEW
JERSEY CIVILIAN DEFENSE AND DISASTER CONTROL ACT.
Councilman Ray Tamborini is the coordinator who
is appointed for a three-year term that expires December 31, 2005.
The coordinator is
also the Chairman of the Local Emergency Planning Council (LEPC). The
members of the LEPC are also appointed for a three-year term that coincides
with the Chairman’s term. The members of the LEPC are:

The coordinator will bring the LEPC together in
the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), when there is a disaster or
emergency within the township.
Past incidents included Hurricane Floyd, Major Snowstorms and 9/11.
The major function of the LEPC is to provide support and resources
to our Township’s Emergency Responders and Township Departments.
The Office of Emergency Management also coordinates the CERT team
within the township.
