The Bloomfield Department of Health and Human Services, in conjunction with Vitalant (formerly Community Blood Services), will host a blood drive from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, at the Bloomfield Public Library located at 90 Broad St. Free parking will be provided. Donors must be in good health, at least 18 years old (16-17 with parental consent), weigh 110 pounds or more and have not donated within the past eight weeks. They should bring a photo ID and eat a meal and drink plenty of water before donating. Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. All donors will receive the following health information: cholesterol, blood pressure, temperature, iron level, pulse and blood type.
