The Bloomfield Art League is one of the longest running art organizations in New Jersey. It takes pride in serving the Bloomfield community and neighboring towns by promoting and stimulating interest in art. The organization is sponsored by the Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department and traditionally holds classes, lectures and demonstrations throughout the year at the Civic Center, 84 Broad St. Membership is open to all, residency is not required.

Open to ages 14 and up

Abstract art discussion and instruction in a hands-on, immersive class. Students will be able to choose their own medium and style as they are guided through the lesson. Supplies and refreshments are included.

FREE for members - $20 for non-members.

This course covers concepts of digital photography, understanding and use of the camera, lenses and other basic equipment. You’ll also learn aesthetic principles as they relate to composition, space, exposure, light and color.*Must provide your own camera

Demos and exercises are designed to develop skills in the use of line, mass, proportions, realistic pencil shading and explore the use of color with pastels. Individual instruction is tailored to each person’s level.
